Petra “The Rose City”
The 2nd of the New 7 Wonders of the World!
Petra is a magnificent masterpiece and a work of art, it is a city sculpted in the desert mountains, which consists of sandstone in a dark pink color, and represents one of the most famous and most important heritage areas in the world, with millions of visitors from all over the world every year.

You will visit the legendary archaeological city in Jordan’s southwestern desert. Dating to around 300 B.C., which was the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom. Passing via a narrow canyon called Al Siq, directly to the most famous structure with 45m-high Al Khazneh, a temple with an ornate, Greek-style facade, and known as The Treasury.

We then continue through a number of tombs and temples carved into pink sandstone cliffs, which gave Petra its nickname, the “Rose City.

The adventure will become even more exciting after reaching the Tomb of Unayshu, where you will be faced with a choice of route – go up to reach a high hill, or through the Nabatean Theatre, The Urn Tomb, Byzantine Church, Winged Lion Temple and The Great Temple to reach The Girl’s Palace to have a rest, some lunch and continue to Ad-Deir in the depth of the pink mountains.
